Description
Sounds Sensible®:
This hands-on, one-day Sounds Sensible® workshop participants will gain the skills to effectively teach this program.
This workshop is hosted by Lavinia Mancuso, Executive Director, Everyone Reading.
Sounds Sensible® is a highly successful, systematic, multi-sensory reading and language arts program based on the Orton-Gillingham philosophy, making it uniquely effective as part of an intervention, a remedial, or an inclusion reading program. Designed as the first level of the S.P.I.R.E. program, Sounds Sensible is also used as an independent phonological awareness and beginning phonics program in Grades Pre-K–1.
The Professional Development for Sounds Sensible/Pre-Level 1 focuses on how best to develop phonological awareness, early phonics, oral language and handwriting skills for young at-risk readers.
